Assessment 1: Coursework/A Consultancy Report (70%)
Assessment Deadline: Tuesday, 13th May 2025 By 2pm
Produce a formal written consultancy report of approximately 3000 words (+/- 10%) excluding references and appendices.
This assesses learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
Assessment title: Consultancy Report
This assignment is based on your field visit to a Hospitality/Event/Aviation or Tourism organisation. During your trip, you have had the opportunity to explore the surroundings, the facilities, and business operation of this organisation as well as you had a chance to interact with the management of this organisation regarding the current issues, challenges and managerial strategies applied.
Assignment Task Part
1.
Consultancy report: Based on your own observations and data collected during your field trip as well as on data accessible through electronic sources, you are required to investigate the aspects of management application of this organization and analyze their business practices. Consider operational and strategic decisions that this company is making to ensure their business success. For this purpose, link your arguments to the relevant theories, and assess the effectiveness of business strategic decisions implementation made by this organization. Formulate feasible conclusions and recommendations for improvements to the business based on your consultancy findings.
Part 2.
Podcast: Endorse and justify your recommendations using professional terminology through a 5-minute podcast, audio or live presentation addressed to the General Manager of the assessed hospitality, events, aviation, or tourism business.

Individual CV and Covering Letter, assessing learning outcome 4, contributing 30% to the module mark.
Conduct a job search and find an advertisement which fits with a career in hospitality, events, aviation, or tourism, that interests you. Reflect on your own employability skills and professional expertise in application to these businesses and write your CV and Covering letter appropriate for the chosen position. Submit your CV and Covering letter as your assessment one.
You will be assessed on your presentation, the suitability of your application and your ability to promote yourself to prospective employers. Your CV should be no more than two pages long and your covering letter must only be one page.
