In your discussion, please choose ONE HOST COUNTRY (e.g., Bangladesh) and ONE INDUSTRY (e.g., garment industry). You need to address the following questions for the report (please note that the wordcount in the bracket is a suggested one): 1. Analyse how neoliberalism has shaped current globalisation and international governance on business (e.g., trade, foreign investment) (20% 700-800 words) 2. Critically evaluate the impact of globalisation and MNEs on your chosen sustainability area (i.e., ONE of economic/social/environmental sustainability) with an example of your chosen host country and industry. In your discussion, please consider how the globalization, MNE motivation of investment and the consequence of MNEs behaviour in the host country are connected. (40%; 1,300-1,500 words) 3. Link your evaluation on the impact of globalisation and the role of MNEs on sustainability in question 2 to one of the UN SDGs. Assess how globalisation and MNEs can deter from or help to achieve your chosen SDG. Please make sure you chose an appropriate goal in relation to your choice of sustainability, country and industry (15% 500-600 words) 4. Provide policy implication based on your main analysis from the questions above โ this can be either national or international (15% 400-500 words) Your arguments should be supported by appropriate data and theories/concepts. You are also expected to use an appropriate structure for a report and adequate references in compliance with the Harvard format (10%) Important!
Second and Third Attempt Students Onlyย You are required to re-work your original submission taking account of the detailed feedback and feedforward provided on your original submission. Once you have made the changes required, please highlight the additional and changed work before re-submission.

The issues were largely discussed in an analytical manner to evaluate the relationship between neoliberalism and globalisation. Relevant and accurate interpretation of the data and/or phenomenon assessing impact of globalisation on business |
Some relevant issues identified to evaluate the relationship between neoliberalism and globalisation covering most of the areas mentioned in the question, but some less relevant information given too much prominence. Accurate but largely descriptive explanation of the data and/or phenomenon to assess impact of globalisation on business |
The range of issues to evaluate the relationship between neoliberalism and globalisation are limited whilst only a few relevant issues identified. Some accurate description of data and/or phenomenon to assess impact of globalisation on business |
Hardly any relevant issues identified on neoliberalism and globalisation Largely incorrect understanding of the data and/or phenomenon to measure the impact of globalisation on business |
No learning outcomes and / or assessment criteria met. Questions not answered. Content lacking in relevance; materials and ideas do not show any understanding of concepts, theories and context. Wholly descriptive. No attempt at analysis or evaluation. No linkage of ideas. No evidence of engagement with any of the module materials. Little attempt to engage with the assignment brief. |
Critical evaluation of globalisation and MNEs on sustainability 40% |
A wide range of relevant issues identified covering all the details in the question Demonstrating an ability to question and critique these ideas to a relevant extent such as thoroughly appreciating both critiques and proponents of the idea. Clear evidence of strong critical judgement, independent thinking and originality in the use of concepts and theories |
A good range of relevant issues identified covering all the details in the question Demonstrating some ability to question and critique ideas by presenting both critiques and proponents of the idea. A good attempt has been made in theory and concept application (i.e. largely relevant and accurate). |
Some relevant issues identified but some less relevant information given too much prominence. Limited ability to question and critique ideas. Perhaps focused too much on one side of argument. Largely descriptive explanation of the theories and concepts with limited application. |
Range of issues limited whilst only a few relevant issues identified. Perhaps some details in the question are missing No ability to question and critique ideas with largely descriptive repetition of arguments. Some irrelevant or inappropriate theories to the topic. |

Very detailed and original interpretation of the data and/or phenomenon to measure issues in the chosen area. The link between impact of globalisation and MNE in relation to the chosen goal were very well discussed in an analytical manner such as thoroughly assessing other alternatives. |
Relevant and accurate interpretation of the data and/or phenomenon to measure issues in the chosen area. The link between impact of globalisation and MNE in relation to the chosen goal were largely discussed in an analytical manner by suggesting some alternatives. |
Accurate but largely descriptive explanation of the data and/or phenomenon to measure issues in the chosen area. Discussion on the link between impact of globalisation and MNE in relation to the chosen goal apparent but largely descriptive. |
Some accurate description of data and/or phenomenon to measure issues in the chosen area. There is hardly any discussion on the link between impact of globalisation and MNE in relation to the chosen goal. |
Largely incorrect understanding of the data and/or phenomenon to measure issues in the chosen area. No comment on the link between impact of globalisation and MNE and SDGs |
