You are a project manager working for a large software development firm working to expand their business by developing a new product which is expected to contribute to the growth of the company.
InfoWeb Solutions Inc.
InfoSoft Solutions Inc. is a fairly large multi-national company having its development centres in USA and Nepal. The administrative departments: Finance, Human Resources Management, and Marketing are based at the Corporate Office in Florida, USA.
Development centre is in Nepal and has its local president along with a pool of Managers and other required Development Team members.

As a Project Manager you are required to carry out number of tasks as listed below. A Written Report (80%)

1. Write a brief memorandum on the setting up of a Project Management Team. [10 Marks]
2. Consider the various approaches and system/software development methods that might be appropriate for this particular firm and developing this particular system. Explain in outline two substantially different methods – and compare their suitability for this case. Make recommendations in relation to this specific case – giving a full rational. [10 Marks]
3. In line with the Prince2 methodology, produce a RACI Matrix chart giving a clear insight into setup of your project team, the chart should clearly identify the champions and their roles in the project. Useful templates can be found on the Official PRINCE2 website. (Note: Keeping in mind the case study, you are free to make assumptions when setting up your team members and their role). [8 Marks]
4. Produce an outline plan for the development on the basis of your chosen system development method or methodology with justification of plan following the selected methodology. [7 Marks]
5. Using relevant PRINCE2 templates produce a Project Brief which provides a foundation for the initiation of the project. Useful templates can be found via the Official PRINCE2 website. [20 Marks]
6. Outline the subsequent stages the work will go through – taking into account the requirements of PRINCE2 and your chosen System/Software Development method – and relating these to the specific case study scenario. [20 Marks]

Present an overview to the management based on the report and be prepared to answer questions. [20 Marks]
