Coursework 1–3D Character model, texture and rig set up
This coursework assesses the following Learning Outcomes of the module:
LO1: understand the key concepts, creative and technical issues of 3D assets and character production workflow (design, modelling, texturing, rigging, animation, editing and rendering).
LO2: analyse 3D assets and character project requirements, identify and evaluate possible problems.
LO3: demonstrate a capability to choose the appropriate advanced techniques and tools as well as apply in practice the knowledge and skills to match project requirements and suggest effective problem solutions.
Coursework Introduction
This coursework enables you to develop your skills in rigging and character posing aspects of the 3D character for the initial stage of the animation process.
In your 1st coursework, a 3D character has to be animated along with proper texture and a rig along with rendered character poses.
Instructions
Your task for this coursework is to submit planning of the project and to create a proper landscape, terrain, or city according to your planning for next coursework. Everything required for the animation is to be submitted.
All of the modeling and rigging process should be complete that is required for creating 5 poses for the character as the final rendered output for this coursework. You do not need to submit any animation. Moreover, the rig that you provide here can be further refined or upgraded in the next coursework.

Production 1: 3D Environment model, Texturing, Lighting Production 2: 3D Character model and rig setup
Deliverables
– Project progress documentation with all the details of how the project was carried out with final rendered images.
– Google drive link of the Maya project files with all sources for textures.
Note: Proper rendered images needs to be submitted. No screenshots allowed. Incremental Files needs to be submitted along with the final files. Submitted files should be in .mb or .ma format.

Readme.txt – Should contain student name, student ID, and course of study, lecturer name and folder and file structure of location information. References.txt – Should contain the proper links of any external sources used in the project. |
